Why Dolva exists

"On the West Cork coast, the weather comes in hard off the Atlantic. Long evenings, rain on the windows and a fire lit before dark."

A book, a cup of tea, a fire, a candle. That was the ritual in West Cork. A scent makes a home in a way that nothing else quite does. I've been in Atlanta eight years now and lighting a candle is still part of my daily ritual. I couldn't find one that told you what was actually in it, not the full list, so I started making them. Hand-thrown stoneware, 100% natural essential oils, every ingredient named. Nothing synthetic, nothing hidden.

No synthetic fragrance. The majority of candles list one ingredient: "fragrance." That word is a legal black box. It can hide hundreds of compounds, including phthalates linked to hormone disruption. At Dolva, every ingredient is responsibly sourced. Sustainable and natural. No synthetic fragrances, no petrochemicals.
Traceable ingredients. We focus on sourcing sustainable and responsible ingredients. Every essential oil supplier, every maker. If it goes in the candle or ships with it, we know where it came from.
Made to last. The ceramic piece is yours forever. The refill drops straight in when the wax burns down. No tools, no mess.
West Cork is in the product, not the packaging. The scents come from the coast: the rock pools, the clifftops, wild herbs, heather, the smell after rain.

The refill system

The piece stays.
The scent changes.

The ceramic piece is yours. It doesn't go in the bin when the wax runs out. The insert lifts clean and a new one drops straight in. People have already asked about passing one on.

Start with a piece. Your starter kit arrives with a ceramic vessel and your first refill already inside. Light it. The piece is yours forever.

Lift out the old. Coconut-soy wax contracts as it cools. When spent, the insert lifts cleanly out — no scraping, no residue.
