Every Dolva piece is hand-thrown on the wheel in our Atlanta studio. No two are identical. Each one is glazed, stamped, and fired to be beautiful enough to live on your shelf long after the candle is done.
The collection
Each glaze is mixed and applied by hand, then fired at cone 6 — the temperature that turns Iceman stoneware fully vitrified, non-porous, and safe for candle use. The reactive nature of our glazes means every piece finishes slightly differently. That's not a flaw. It's the point.

The stamp
Before each piece is fired, a word is stamped into the wet clay. It becomes part of the piece — permanent, tactile, yours. Every standard Dolva piece carries the scent name. Personalised pieces carry whatever word you choose.
A name. A date. A place. One word that means something. Pressed into stoneware and fired at over 2000°F. It will outlast everything else you own.

How it's made
Every Dolva piece is made from start to finish in our Atlanta studio. We use Kentucky Mudworks Iceman stoneware — a premium white clay body that fires fully vitrified and non-porous at cone 6. It's the right clay for the job, and we say so.
Each piece is centred and thrown by hand. No two are exactly the same — slight differences in height, width and wall thickness are the natural mark of the wheel.
While the clay is still leather-hard, the scent name — or your chosen word — is pressed in. It dries into the piece and remains through both firings.
The first firing removes all moisture and hardens the clay. We measure each piece after bisque — this tells us exactly which wick size to use for the candle.
Three coats of glaze applied by hand. The interior is fully glazed for candle safety. The reactive glazes are sensitive to application — slight variations create the character you see in the finished piece.
The final firing at 2232°F vitrifies the clay completely. Non-porous. Heat safe. Beautiful. The piece is tested and measured before any candle is poured.
